Algor Case History

Algor, Inc. is a Pittsburgh-based software company that pioneered the use of personal computers for product design and engineering analysis. Algor hired Jampole Communications to develop and implement a public relations program to use national and industry trade news media to convince engineers and designers that Algor software was the most accurate, cost-effective and easiest-to-use engineering software. Another objective of the program was to substitute stories in industry trade publications for print ads at a lower overall cost, while maintaining a steady stream of inquiries for telemarketing efforts.

Our public relations program continued for approximately five years. In that time:

  • We garnered more than 2,000 articles in national, industry trade and local publications about Algor. A survey we conducted indicates that, on average, each article produced 18 inquiries or leads.
  • Algor cut its advertising budget substantially, while increasing the number of sales leads, which drive its telemarketing program.
  • Algor achieved sales records in every quarter during the program.
