For many years, Jampole Communications has conducted a long-term public communications program to raise awareness of the Y, communicate the good it does in the community as a nonprofit organization and support membership and fundraising efforts. The core of the program is a public relations campaign that has attracted an average of 85 positive stories a year about the Y. Story topics have included the opening of new Y facilities, new Y programs, special events like “Healthy Kids Day” and the Y’s view on social issues.
We have also performed a number of other tasks for the Y, such as creating and placing print, billboard and television ads; providing crisis communications counsel; and writing or editing various documents. In 2013, we will help the Y launch a blog and drive readers to it with a social media campaign based on building followers on Twitter.
